Pantry Make Over

Do you remember way back in June when I revealed our laundry room make over? I must tell you this room has been worth its weight in gold, we are loving all of the changes and added function of this space! One of the biggest impacts other than the extra storage is the plate rack I built. (One of these days I have to write up a tutorial on how I built that) This plate rack still continues to make me very happy! I love seeing my pretty vintage things displayed, I mean coming into this room to do laundry is a little nicer now and one of the reasons for that is this plate rack! Here’s a little reminder of what the before of this room looked like for wayyyyyy too long.  If you’d like to see the reno reveal you can see the whole post here

Yikes! Let’s focus on the pretty shall we?

I love to use layering and interesting wooden pieces to balance on the horizontal plate rack bars… adding some red wooden Christmas beads to this drawer holding a new plant baby… super cozy!

Using cozy blankets to add texture with the colours of Christmas is another favourite way to add softness and comfort! This blanket is special to me because it belonged to my parents, it was their car blanket. <3

Wooden mashers are a weakness lately (while I’m out picking), the tone of wood is instant warmth and is very comforting to me. It makes me feel HOME and of course cozy.

Simple can be cozy too… little plants add so much warmth and life to a space, besides who doesn’t love plants!?

Layering in 3’s is another favourite way I like to add visual interest, these monochromatic gradient bottle brush trees are so lovely, of course I want more and more! 😉  Really though, are there ever enough bottle brush trees?

Love that plate rack wall, so fabulous and adding the trees to the candlesticks is sheer genius. This space really does look like it is worth it’s weight in gold. We all need great organization and this laundry room has just that.

Laurie, I adore your plate rack and all your wonderful vintage finds. You have such a knack for displaying your treasures. The Rudolph print caught my eye. Is it a poster? I love the simplicity of it and the way you added a simple ribbon.

Thank you Jennifer! That Rudolph print is from The Painted Hive, she has a whole series of free printables, I’ve downloaded the whole series, they are so charming! xo

Love the Plate Rack – do you have plans/instructions for it? I know just where I could use one in our new place. It look so festive with the Christmas touches.

Have a great Christmas and thank for sharing!

Hi Jill, thank you so much. I don’t have the tutorial written up just yet… my bad as it’s a little tricker to go back and do a tutorial after, I really should have documented the process. But I am going to be doing one, maybe early January!?

Yep, I’m still admiring your plate rack and it sure does add a lot of space for storage and decorating and it’s such a simple idea. I’m loving your bottle tree collection and that serving plate with the green detail around the edge…..it’s a beauty for sure.
