Anne Hathaway’s Cottage – Vintage Crown Devon Fielding’s Creamer

Body Condition: In shades of mid/dark brown, showing Anne Hathaway’s thatched cottage.  In good vintage condition, free from any chips, there is crazing to the glaze and two small hair-line cracks.

Measurements:  3 1/2″ h x 5″ w

Additional Details:  Olde English Crown Devon creamer depicts the childhood home of Shakespeare’s wife, Anne Hathaway. This vintage creamer pitcher is a medium brown transferware pattern and is decorated with an image of Anne Hathaway’s home featuring an English Tudor cottage with three chimneys and a thatched roof, surrounded by trees and shrubs, so charming.

***Anne Hathaway’s Cottage is a twelve-roomed farmhouse where she lived as a child in the village of Shottery, Warwickshire, England.  The earliest part of the house was built prior to the 15th century; the higher part is 17th century. It is now set in extensive gardens, in 1969 the cottage was badly damaged in a fire, but was restored by the Trust and is now open to the public as a museum.
